Service addresses health, food poverty and access issues through the development, provision and support of a range of locally appropriate food initiatives.

 

Focus is on financially and socially excluded families, communities and individuals - often involving local volunteers in community food outlets ("food co-ops"). Providing 'fast fruit' a healthy tuck shop service to a wide range of schools, nurseries, community centres, etc. A fresh fruit service to a range of companies (eg oil industry) to meet their 'healthy workforce' objectives.

 

'Fareshare' scheme established  to collect and redistribute useable supermarket and food industry 'disposals' to homeless groups and individuals through appropriate organisations.

 

Personal and community capacity building is provided for through a range of volunteering opportunities throughout the business.

Free FareShare food distributed through provider organisations e.g. Aberdeen Cyrenians, Aberdeen Foyer and Grampian Women's Aid.
